Australia: Great Ocean Road

I drove from Melbourne to Adelaide via the scenic  ‘Great Ocean Road’. This is a road (240 km long) along the south coast of Australia. The most famous stop is the rock formation ‘The Twelve Apostles’  but this was actually a disappointment. The view is nice but it’s too crowded with tourists and their cameras. The vista points of Lord Ard Gorge and The Arch London are more impressive and a lot quieter.

Ik ben van Melbourne naar Adelaide gereden over  ‘The Great Ocean Road’.  Dit is een weg (240 km lang) langs de zuidkust van Australië. De bekendste halte is de rotsformatie ‘De Twaalf Apostelen’ maar dit was eigenlijk een teleurstelling. Het uitzicht is mooi maar veel te druk met toeristen en hun camera’s. De vista points van Lord Ard Gorge en The London Arch zijn indrukwekkender en rustiger.
