Indonesia: Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan is known as a party island. But out of respect for the Muslim community, it is quiet this month on Gili T because of Ramadhan. No loud music blasting out of the speakers, but instead the beats are coming out of the headphones in The Irish Pub. On the Silent Party, everyone gets a wireless headset. There are two music channels you can choose from. Sometimes you see people dancing at a different rhythm, and sometimes you spot people who are dancing to the same music as you. What a party!

Gili Trawangan staat bekend als feesteiland. Maar uit respect voor de moslimgemeenschap die momenteel Ramadan houdt, is het deze maand stil op Gili T. ‘s Nachts knalt er geen luide muziek uit de boxen, maar wel uit de hoofdtelefoons in The Irish Pub. Op de Silent Party krijgt iedereen een draadloze hoofdtelefoon. Er zijn twee muziekkanalen waar je uit kan kiezen. Soms zie je mensen op een ander ritme dansen, en soms zie je mensen die naar dezelfde muziek luisteren als jij. Leuk feestje!
